Can you manually import contacts when automatic import is set up?

Yes, it is possible to manually import contacts even if an automatic import is configured, and it will not disrupt the automatic import process.

Deduplication and re-import:

  • Deduplication rules and contact re-import management apply equally to both manual and automatic imports.
  • During manual import, contacts are checked against existing entries in the mailing lists of the survey based on Contact ID and Email.

File Format Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the contact file you are manually importing meets the same criteria as the automatic import (file format, column structure, etc.).

Consistency Check for Matches:

The system detects when the matches from the manual import differ from those set for automatic import.

This allows you to identify any potential inconsistencies before the data is integrated.

  • If the matches are correct, but the header titles of the file differ, it will not affect the results.
  • In other cases (for example, if a new column header is linked to a metadata already populated by the automatic import), this can lead to data inconsistencies and biased results.

💡 Tip: To avoid conflicts, you can coordinate manual imports with the timing of automatic imports. This will help reduce the risk of deduplication or overload of invitations.
